     Hi peeps! I hope all of you are in good condition. In my third blog post, I will write about describing place. The content of the text is almost the same as the previous text, only different in the object to be described.

Definition of Describing Place

• According to Tompkins (1994) and Stanley (1988), describing place is as painting pictures with words.
• According to Friedman (2010), describing place is the simplest and easiest writing form compared to recount and report.
• Describing places is one activity to explain what place is look like, explain what make it place different from other places and through describing places people are easier to get some information about the located of those places.

2. Adjective Order

Some adjectives give a specific opinion. We only use these adjectives to describe particular kinds of noun, for example:

We usually put a general opinion in front of a specific opinion:

• nice tasty soup
• a nasty uncomfortable armchair

As you already know, adjectives have the function of explaining or describing nouns.

Portland, Oregon.

     Portland, Oregon is located in the northwest of the United States. Both the Columbia and the Willamette river run through Portland. It is the largest city in the state of Oregon. The city is famous for its proximity to the mountains and the ocean, as well as its relaxed, friendly inhabitants. Approximately 500,000 people live in Portland while the Portland metro area has a population of over 1.5 million inhabitants.

    The main industries in the Portland area include computer chip manufacturing and sportswear design. In fact, two famous sportswear companies are based in the Portland Area: Nike and Columbia Sportswear. The largest employer is Intel which employs over 15,000 people in the greater Portland metro area. There are also many smaller technology companies located in downtown Portland.

        Portland's weather is famous for its rain. However, the spring and summer are quite lovely and mild. The Willamette V alley to the south of Portland is important for its agriculture and wine production. The Cascade Mountains are located to the east of Portland. Mt. Hood has three major skiing facilities and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The Columbia river gorge is also located close to Portland.

 STMJ Karangdoro.

          When I was little, I always took the time to stop by this legendary place. Yes, the name is stmj Karangdoro. Every time we come home from grandma's house, we happen to pass by that place, we finally decide to stop by and become a regular place. I came on the weekend, of course it's crowded. Luckily, there was still one empty seat in the corner of the tavern which was filled with wooden tables over the iron chairs.

          The owner said, the place has become family stall since three generations. It's really cool, they are very compact to maintain. like most angkringan, this shop also sells packaged rice accompanied by various snacks such as fried dumplings and dumplings, as well as side dishes such as egg satay or intestines. However, there is something a little different in this angkringan. At that time, Amat Surip also sold pure milk in his shop. One of the flagship menu is STMJ. So, that's where STMJ Karangdoro started to be famous.

         The shop, which is located at Jalan Raden Patah No 112, has also been open since 05.00 and will close at around 21.00 WIB. With that long sales span, of course this Karang Doro Milk has a bigger chance to attract people, from breakfast to dinner. I usually order chocolate hot milk, then buy some of the available snacks like nuts and many more. my dad really likes toast, while my mom really likes her ginger milk. even though the price is a bit expensive among snacks, the taste is really good so it's worth buying!

    Many tourists from out of town who visit stmj Karangdoro too, they enjoy the warm drink while being treated to views of the road to the old ttoo. the place is also comfortable, feels very ancient, very authentic, even with the taste of the food, especially the cutlery used, adds to the impression of history.
